A little bit of my sentimental feelings written in words for Percy Jackson Universe. I know that you’re probably not gonna see this. But I just wanna say thank you Uncle Rick, for the last 15 Percy Jackson Universe books. Those are legendary.

15 books, 15 years later, and here we are.

Finally finished reading the last book in Percy Jackson Universe. Not gonna talk about the book really, but damn what a good, sweet, closing chapter.

It’s kinda sentimental reading this last book. Maybe as emotional as when I read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It’s the end of an era.

Have known Percy Jackson for the last 5 years or so. Relatively new, I know. But Percy Jackson Universe got this special something. I love greek mythology since I was a kid. I wanted to be an archeologist for god sake. The world of the gods has always been fascinating for me. And then there’s a fantasy book telling stories about demigods, monsters, and gods. Of course I have to read it.

While my first Rick Riordan book is Magnus Chase and the Sword of Summer, my first official Percy Jackson Universe book that I bought is the Trials of Apollo: The Dark Prophecy. Before that I always read all the books in the series by borrowing them from the library. Never really got enough money to buy those pricey books hahaha.

And I think that’s why Percy Jackson Universe kinda more sentimental to me in some ways. More than Harry Potter. I never really got enough money to buy Harry Potter books on my own. Since I was only in grade school back then. My allowance was not enough for that kind of thing. So I never got to buy any of Harry Potter books. I always read them in the library. I only got one book from that series, the fourth book. And another one is the Cursed Child, which I really believe is not part of the series. Please don’t refute me on this.

But Percy Jackson, I started to read them in my early college years. Which I already got monthly allowance, and I could really saved up some money. And then I got scholarship money. One of the first things I bought using that money were three of the Magnus Chase series, The Kane Chronicles: Red Pyramid, and Percy Jackson’s Greek Heroes. And I never felt that happy walking away from a book store.

The first book that I read was of course, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: the Lightning Thief. And it was awesome. The book got humor, drama, action, family and friendship theme, packed into one. Rick Riordan storytelling style is so unique, I never really read that kind of style before. And I loved it.

And I watched all 2 Percy Jackson movies first before I read the books. And as someone clueless, I loved those movies. I really thought Logan Lerman was awesome and Alexandra Daddario was the perfect Annabeth. The same goes with the second movie. I was amazed with how Percy “killed” Kronos with such ease. But then I realized how stupid I am.

Those movies were disasters. I was so angry with those people, for destroying such an awesome book into a movie that’s so fucked up.

The Percy Jackson Universe was so special, not only because the awesome stories. But how Rick Riordan really present such great characters. Each and every one of the character got their strengths and flaws. Not one character is perfect.

I can never thank him enough for giving me my ultimate OTP, Percy and Annabeth. I think I never really ship a pairing this hard. Percy and Annabeth are just meant to be. They’re perfect for each other and so fucking adorable. That’s why my favorite book of the whole series was The Heroes of Olympus: The House of Hades. I mean, they really were tested all the way in the Tartarus. And if that kind of journey can’t prove how awesome those two are, then I don’t know what can.

Almost every one of my favorite moments in the series involved Percy and Annabeth. How Percy taking over Annabeth who’s doing Atlas the titan’s task in The Titan’s Curse. How Annabeth kissed Percy before he dissapear in The Battle of the Labyrin. The one time they fight side by side in the Battle of Manhattan. The underwater kiss. The one time where Annabeth judo flipped Percy. And the one time where they fell into Tartarus. For fuck sake I really hope with the end of this universe, they finally can live happily and quietly, for demigods standards at least.

And the humor, oh my god the sarcastic humors are legendary. Leo’s sneaky smile, Frank’s cute face, Percy’s sarcasm, Apollo’s snarky remarks, and Meg’s fierceness are the best fun I’ve had reading those 15 books.

15 books, those are a lot of books. And I’ve read every single one of them. And I love every moment of it.

These books had given me laughs, smiles, and tears. Laughs for the jokes, smiles for those cute and happy moments, and tears for those awful deaths. For Jason especially, I literally cried my eyes out when I realize you’re gone. May you rest in peace. See you in Elysium, or as a whole other person if you do choose rebirth.

In the end, I just want to thank Rick Riordan for giving me some of the best books I’ve ever read in my life. And I hope, you would continue making such awesome universes in the future. Also, please don’t screw up the Percy Jackson and Kane Chronicles series in Disney+ and Netflix. Just, please be careful and put all your heart in there.

Thank you for giving us such a sweet happy ending. For telling us a bit of the characters’ lifes after everything. I love those little stories about Reyna, Thalia, Meg, Leo, Nico, Will, Piper, Havel, Frank, Calypso, and of course Percy and Annabeth. Please let them be happy for the rest of their lifes.

Regards,

One of your biggest fans
